How to Play Action Hero
Objective
Blast through waves of alien invaders in this top-down action shooter. Eliminate every enemy in each wave to advance to the next level and survive as long as possible to maximize your score.

Game Rules
- 1Your weapon auto-aims at the closest enemy, so focus on positioning and rapid firing
- 2Four enemy types spawn: troopers (green), pigs (pink), enforcers (blue), and octabrains (purple, larger and slower)
- 3Each bullet deals 20 damage; enemies have 30 + (level x 8) health, requiring multiple hits at higher levels
- 4Enemy contact deals 12 damage to your 100 HP health bar - more punishing than typical shooters
- 5Clearing all enemies in a wave advances you to the next level, which spawns 3 + (level x 2) enemies with increasing speed
Scoring System
You earn 100 points per enemy destroyed. Waves grow aggressively with 2 extra enemies each level and enemy speed increasing by 0.1 per level, so later levels are worth significantly more but are much harder to survive.
Tips & Strategies
Beginner
- Keep moving constantly - enemies chase you and deal heavy 12 HP damage on contact
- Focus fire on the nearest enemies since your auto-aim targets whichever is closest
- Stay near the bottom edge of the arena to give yourself maximum reaction time as enemies spawn in the upper area
- Tap Space quickly and repeatedly since each press fires a single bullet
Advanced
- Watch out for octabrains - they are slower (0.7 speed) but have larger hitboxes making them easier to accidentally collide with
- Troopers, pigs, and enforcers all move at 1.2 base speed but scale faster each level - prioritize thinning the herd quickly
- Use diagonal movement (W+A, W+D, etc.) to outmaneuver enemy clusters that converge on your position
- Position yourself so the closest enemy is the one you most need to kill, since auto-aim always targets the nearest
- In later levels, enemies have 60+ HP requiring 3+ shots each, so start shooting early before they get close
Pro
- Master the art of kiting large groups by running along the arena edges while firing inward
- At level 5+, waves spawn 13+ enemies - use tight circular movement to keep them bunched behind you
- Aim for level 10+ survival where enemy speed exceeds 2.2 and health surpasses 110 HP per enemy
- Memorize the respawn mechanic: enemies that touch you teleport to a random spot in the top portion of the arena, so expect attacks from new angles
