Why Use Extract PDF Pages?
Keep Only What You Need
Extract just the relevant pages from large documents. Share chapters, exhibits, invoices, or appendices without exposing the full source PDF.
Command-Friendly Selection
Use normal page ranges plus first, last, open ranges, odd, even, and all. The plan shows exactly what will be copied before extraction.
Single or Separate Output
Export one clean PDF for sharing, or create a ZIP where every selected page becomes its own PDF for forms, scans, and review packets.
Local by Default
Pages are copied in your browser with pdf-lib. The plan endpoint receives only page counts and settings, not your document content.
Common Use Cases
Extract pages for any purpose
Extract Chapters
Pull specific chapters from ebooks, manuals, or reports. Create focused documents for study, reference, or sharing.
Save Key Pages
Extract important pages from contracts, agreements, or forms. Keep only the pages you need for your records.
Create Handouts
Extract specific slides or pages from presentations to create targeted handouts for meetings or training.
Archive Efficiently
Extract and save only relevant pages for long-term storage. Reduce archive size while keeping important content.
How It Works
Upload Your PDF
Drag and drop your PDF file or click to browse. The browser detects page count and renders thumbnails locally.
Select Pages to Extract
Choose a recipe, click thumbnails, or type commands like 4-9, last, -3, or 8-. The plan updates before you create the output.
Choose Output Bundle
Create a single focused PDF, or package each selected page as a separate PDF inside a ZIP file.
Download Extracted PDF
Download the local result. The original file remains unchanged.
Tips for Best Results
Finding Page Numbers
Open your PDF in a viewer first to identify exact page numbers. Note that PDF page numbers may differ from printed page numbers in the document.
Use Ranges for Chapters
When extracting chapters or sections, use range notation (e.g., '45-72') instead of listing every page number individually. Use last for the final page.
Combine with Other Tools
After extraction, use Merge PDF to combine with other documents, or Reorder PDF to rearrange pages in the extracted result.
Odd/Even for Scans
Use odd/even presets to separate front and back pages from double-sided scans. Extract odd pages for fronts, even for backs.
Separate Pages When Needed
Use Separate PDFs when reviewers need individual page files. Use Single PDF when you want one focused document.
